Introductory Economics for Non-Majors
Introducción a la Economía (para estudiantes de otras carreras)
LECTURER
An introductory course designed for non-economics majors. My aim is to help students develop a working interest in the national and international economic environment. The syllabus introduces the foundational tools of economic theory — supply and demand, market structures, and market failures such as externalities and public goods — alongside core macroeconomic concepts: production, inflation, employment, fiscal and monetary policy, and the dynamics of an open economy. A central thread is contextualizing these ideas within the Costa Rican economy, examining local challenges around poverty, inequality, and the welfare state, so that students across disciplines can take part in informed economic discussions.

Introductory Economics
Introducción a la Economía · B.A. in Economics, first year
LECTURER · LABORATORY SESSIONS
The rigorous foundational course for first-year students in the Economics program. It establishes the discipline's terminology, logical reasoning, and analytical toolkit, systematically covering the decision-making of households, firms, and government — consumer and producer problems, market efficiency, and market failures — together with aggregate macroeconomic behavior, including GDP, inflation, and aggregate demand and supply. I lead the weekly practical laboratory sessions, where students work through the mathematical, graphical, and analytical applications of the lecture material to build a hands-on framework for interpreting real-world economic problems.
